The interest rates for loans disbursed before July 1, 2006, are variable. Rates on variable-rate federal education loans are adjusted annually on July 1. The rates are based on the bond equivalent rate of the 91-day Treasury bills auctioned at the final auction held before June 1 each year. Please contact your lender for your current interest rate if you obtained your loan prior to July 1, 2006.
