Application Information

Application Procedures


Each of the following steps must be completed in order to consider you for admission:

  1. The Application
    This online application must be completed. The application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application must be returned with a nonrefundable application fee of $40 for the undergraduate program (or $50 for the graduate program). Check should be made payable to Shorter College Professional Studies.

  2. Requests for Transcripts
    Print out and complete a separate request for official transcript form for each college you attended. Submit the forms directly to your enrollment representative for processing. Fax number is (770) 951-9590.

  3. Recommendation Forms
    Forward recommendation forms to two professional sources for completion. Letters may be mailed or faxed to the Admissions Office. Fax number is (770) 951-9590.

  4. Investigate
    Investigate your employer’s tuition assistance policy and other options for financing your education.

  5. Follow-up
    Contact your enrollment representative to ensure timely completion of your academic file.

  6. Inform Others
    Earn referrals by telling co-workers and friends about the Shorter College program.

Additional Required Procedures


Undergraduate Program
  1. Military Papers
    If applicable, forward a copy of military papers: DD214, DD205, AARTS transcripts, or any other Documented Learning to Shorter College.

Graduate Program
  1. Current Resume
    Send copy of current resume including personal information, employment history, and professional activities.

  2. Complete and Submit Writing Essay
    See admissions portfolio or enrollment representative for explanation.

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
